Explanation and Playthrough:
Prototype Preview (Tantrum House)
Would it be better to play one game of Terraforming Mars or 2 or 3 games of this, the Dice Game?
Comparing the Dice version with Ares and the original Terraforming Mars:
2 Player playthrough:
Note: at 34:06 the “free” action he took had a green icon with a question mark at the left which means that there is a cost to it of 1 green die (free just means, not part of support or main actions)
How To Play with a 2 play run through:
At 25:56 is a reference to getting an Award by matching the color of the Award die. Actually you need to match the icon on that die to the cost on played cards to count towards earning the Award. (see also at 1:13:02 – don’t count how many blue dice are in your production que, but count how many energy icons are in the cost of all your played cards)
At 32:15 the bonus is a C icon on a red die. You do not gain a red die and roll it.
At 33:16 you don’t actually get the green die when you gain the bonus card. You get the dice only when you do a Production action.

Meaning of some of the Symbols and Images:
Effective Storage (and Logistics) => Each time you do “Production” on your turn, you may save more than just 3 dice (ie, 2 extra, or 5)
Quality Control is an example of a COLON in the middle. Every time the thing on the RIGHT happens you get the thing on the left. In this example, every tie you play a green card you also gain 1 VP.
Equatorial Magnetizer is an example of a one time effect based on what tiles are on the board:
Eco Architects is an example of a COLON in the middle. This example means whenever anyone places a forest tile on the board, you get a blue die. (see also Artic Algae and Rover Construction)
Reputation is an example of gaining a VP as part on every turn that you do a Production.
