DorfRomantik

Many reviews refer to this game as a cooperative Carcassonne style game. This is a chill game that you can’t “lose”. A very relaxing game that still can stimulate your brain but with simple rules. Easy to play (but Game Night video did have a bunch of times where they didn’t follow the rules). Might be seen as a solo game that can be played with others, but the social aspect can be extremely fun too. Can play a game in 15-20 minutes and you will want to play two or three games in a row (per Board Game Happy review video).

PLUS it is a Legacy Style game with boxes to open as you achieve various goals.

Books of Time

Wow … a game that let’s you make your own book in a 2 ring binder! Best played with 2 or 3 players … and it is tough to meet the end game goals. A puzzly kind of game trying to decide what to do when. This game was created by the same person who created Mandala Stones. Game takes longer the more players. GREAT for Solo play! Probably plays too long with 4 players.

Note: it takes a LOT of table space!

NOTE: Whoever is quickest at finishing their turn should be the first player! (other players can think about the Chronicles book pages while the first player actually is taking their actions).

Mind (The Mind – 2018)

There are lots of “mind” games. This one is from 2018 and is a game with a deck of cards :)

Awkward Guests (a better Clue game)

If you like Clue, you should like Awkward Guests!

It plays longer with more people. With fewer people it misses the choice of who to trade with (so 3 players might be best). However, a 2 player game avoids the chance to keep getting the same cards over again because cards exchanged are then discarded. Solo mode is also quite good!

Earth Rising

Note: be careful watching videos about this game because some are referencing the original edition which was never published … it was cancelled and relaunched as a new updated edition which is now referred to as “First Edition”.

I made a video UNBOXING my game for Earth Day 2023:
